In the heart of rural Kajiado, where dusty roads meet endless skies, a quiet digital revolution is taking root.

Tusemezane was born from a simple but powerful belief: that young people and women in marginalized communities hold the solutions to their own challenges — if only given the tools, skills, and space to speak, learn, and lead.

Who We Are

Tusemezane is a grassroots digital empowerment and mentorship initiative based in rural Kajiado, Kenya.
We work with young people and women — especially those in underserved Maasai communities — to build digital skills, grow confidence, access mentorship, and speak up for climate justice.

Our Mission

To bridge the digital divide and amplify grassroots solutions through mentorship, storytelling, and community innovation, guided by empathy, equity, and local knowledge.

Our Vision

To build a generation of digitally skilled, climate-conscious youth and women from rural Kajiado who are equipped to lead, innovate, and shape their own future.

What We Do

We offer community-powered programs that combine digital learning, mentorship, and climate storytelling to equip vulnerable groups with practical tools for change.

Our key focus areas include:

Digital Skills for Livelihoods

Teaching youth and women how to use mobile phones, design tools, and social platforms to earn, create, and express.

Climate Advocacy Through Storytelling

Training local youth to document climate challenges and share their stories through video, photography, and social media

Mentorship Circles

Connecting learners to peer mentors and professionals for life skills, personal growth, career guidance, and community support.

Community Innovation

Using design thinking to solve local problems together — from water access to girls’ education — through creative collaboration.

Our Approach

At the heart of everything we do is Design Thinking — a human-centered approach rooted in listening, empathy, and local wisdom. We begin by listening to the community — understanding their lived experiences, not just their needs. We co-create solutions, not impose them. We use simple, mobile-first tools to meet learners where they are. We blend modern digital skills with traditional community values to ensure relevance, trust, and lasting impact.
